An engineer by profession with a 25-year career history in design, sales, supply and support of major capital equipment, Niel brings extensive knowledge of Power Plant technology to MAN Diesel & Turbo.

Taking on the role of National Sales Manager for the Power Plant Division of Alstom in 1992, Niel developed expertise in large diesel engines and power generation. Joining MAN Diesel as General Manager for Engineering, Projects and Sales in 2000, Niel has further developed this area of excellence and continues to draw enormous respect from peers, colleagues and clients for his technical insights and project management capabilities.

Niel has significant involvement with all projects, from the prospective stage through to completion. Ensuring the design, supply and installation meets regulatory requirements and high expectations of clients, Niel has been instrumental in securing major new gas diesel projects with turnkey capability in Australia.

Descended from the founder of the Halvorsen boat building enterprise, Niel is a natural fit at MAN Diesel & Turbo. Favourite pursuits these days, however, are based on the snow, not the sea. Niel, a keen skier and president of his ski club, enjoys taking to the slopes with his family.
