In the latest example of its commitment to Papua New Guinea, MAN Diesel Australia has secured exhibition space at the PNG Mining & Investment Conference in Sydney in early December.
Following its most recent success in PNG - the successful relocation of power station in Lae - MAN Diesel Australia is expanding its power offerings in PNG to include power generation plants in a choice of diesel, heavy fuel, gas and dual fuel (gas/diesel) configurations, as well as state-of-the-art marine propulsion systems for LNG carriers.
Senior MAN staff will be on hand throughout the event to discuss these new power solutions for PNG, including Business Development Manager Eric Clarke, who has worked on several power-related engineering projects in PNG over the past 20 years.
According to Niel Halvorsen, MAN Diesel Australia’s General Manager of Engineering, Projects and Sales, the company’s presence at the Sydney conference is designed to underscore MAN’s commitment to PNG.
“We’re a significant player in PNG power,” he says. “That’s the message we want to deliver to prospective partners at this event.”
“We have a strong track record in the power solutions we’re offering, however we understand that PNG is a unique market with a special business culture – one with a strong emphasis on personal relationships,” says Mr Halvorsen. “The Sydney event is a great opportunity for us to talk with prospective customers face to face and begin building some new relationships in PNG.”
“And in view of the Papua New Guinea Government’s aim for gas to be readily available in 2014, MAN Diesel Australia is very well placed to provide appropriate power solutions in PNG into the future,” he says.
The 10th PNG Mining & Investment Conference takes place at the Sydney Hilton Hotel from Monday 1 December through Wednesday 3 December 2008. Visit us at Stand Number 25.
