POWERING THE GREEN TRANSFORMATION:

We want to live up to our social responsibility and see sustainability as a core element in order to survive in global competition. That’s why we see this topic as an integral part of our corporate strategy. For this reason, we have anchored decarbonization as one of the central themes in our sustainability strategy.

The goal of MAN Engines – a business unit of MAN Truck & Bus – is to offer our customers solutions in agricultural and construction technology, for water and special vehicles as well as in power generation that do not release CO2 locally. Our aim is to support the business of large and small OEMs towards decarbonization with our products and services. We offer different solutions for a wide range of applications.

MAN ENGINES SOLUTIONS FOR EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT

SCR and PARTICULATE FILTERS

In order to comply with the most important global directives, MAN Engines offers its customers numerous and flexible solutions for reducing emissions.

From exhaust gas recirculation to diesel particulate filters and SCR systems, MAN Engines and its partners have a wide range of options for exhaust gas aftertreatment. This enables us to present you with customised solutions that meet your needs.

Our engines meet the modern requirements for emission standards such as EU Stage V or US Tier 4, while at the same time enabling emission downgrades for countries with less stringent requirements.

In addition, as a customer you benefit from the high quality of the components used, which have proven themselves not only in MAN Engines but also hundreds of thousands of times in the large-scale production of MAN commercial vehicles.

Interest in these solutions is ever increasing – talk to us about your options.

AUSTRALIAN FIRST - EURO V ENGINES

MAN is proud to announce the sale of the first engines to meet the Euro V emission standard into Australia.

This standard does not apply to Australia, but our customer has elected to apply it to their business to ensure they are doing everything they can to run the cleanest fleet possible.

If your operating environment is important to you, talk to a MAN sales representative to hear more about the emissions standards framework as it applies to Australia and the world.

ALTERNATIVE FUELS TECHNOLOGY

HYRDOGEN ENGINES

The worlds first workboat in operation, powered by MAN.

HYBRID TECHNOLOGY

A modular system of diesel and electric engines, clutch and batteries are available already from MAN.

BATTERIES FROM MAN

The battery is the heart of an electric truck, an eBus, mobile machines or stationary energy storages. It’s no wonder then, that MAN are now building their own is battery manufacturing plant production at the Nuremberg Technical Centre.

HVO – FROM COOKING FAT TO FUEL

Climate-friendly thanks to biodiesel: Using HVO fuel from waste and renewable raw materials means that diesel engines can easily still be used while also achieving CO2 targets. All marine and off-road diesel engines from the current MAN Engines range are approved for operation with HVO.

BIOGAS AS A BRIDGE TO THE HYDROGEN ECONOMY

Clean energy from biogas or sewage sludge: gas engines from MAN Engines turn cogeneration units into climate protectors.

More and more sewage treatment plants are generating electricity and heat from sewage sludge. In many of these small cogeneration units, MAN engines ensure sustainable and cost-effective energy generation.

STATIONARY GAS ENGINES IN MARINE USE

The Dutch shipyard Concordia Damen will build the enormous number of 40 new Parsifal inland waterway barges by the end of 2024. MAN Engines plays an important role in this process and is supplying 80 MAN E3262 gas engines. The 12-cylinder engines are installed in gensets from the Dutch partner MAN Rollo. In combination with electric motors, each two of the gas engines, which deliver a total of 990 kW, form the hybrid drive of the low-emission tankers.
